Galvanized vs. Black Vinyl-Coated

Galvanized is the workhorse — silver, tough, the look you already know from postwar Warren and Southfield lots. Black vinyl-coated is the same idea with a quieter face that reads more like a modern border and hides a little better against landscaping. Both need the fabric stretched correctly. A sagging chain-link job is almost always a stretch and post problem, not “the weather.”

We also replace the tired four-foot residential runs that have been patched with zip ties since the 90s. If you're done with the silver look, we'll quote privacy slats, a black coat upgrade, or a full privacy replacement on the same visit.

Commercial Chain Link Is a Different Build

A backyard dog fence and a Southfield shop lot are not the same spec. Commercial work gets heavier posts, different fabric gauges, and gates that take truck traffic. We install both and we won't sell you a residential gauge on an industrial opening.

Barbed wire, three-strand toppers, and crash-resistant layouts are quoted only when they fit the site and the local rules. You get a spec in writing, not a verbal “we'll make it secure.”

When Chain Link Should Become Privacy Instead

A lot of our vinyl and wood jobs start as “can you fix this chain link?” On a four-foot silver fence that's heaved and rusted, a repair buys you a year and you still have no privacy. We'll say that out loud. If the fabric is tight and you just need a gate or a corner reset, we repair it and leave.
